that's what Duke was calling himself when he insisted on wearing this get up to bed.
Me: "Duke, I bought you a new Mario costume."
Duke: "Does it have a mustache?"
Me: "Of course."
Duke: "What color is the mustache?"
Me: "Brown?"
Duke: "I hope it's not brown. Mario's mustache is black!"
He sure is a sucker for details.
I couldn't even get him to take the socks off his hands.
Mario has white gloves and that's the way it has to stay.

And just for your viewing pleasure,
here are a few more of Duke's crazy Mario obsession.
He's even told me multiple times that
" Duke isn't even his name anymore. He only answers to Mario now."

Then today he tried to auction himself off to either my mom
or Shalayne. He told them that whoever would by him
Super Mario Brothers could be the one that gets to
keep him forever.
Luckily he was willing to settle for his new costume
waiting for him at home.
Otherwise I would've lost.

Love you forever, Duke. Oops...I mean, Mario.

Mario, Tyler, Duke...
I love your desire to keep the details. I love your ability to get your mom to buy you whatever you want. I love your love of all things make believe.
Oodles..Troll and co.
why does the bottom picture of his dead serious face and painted on mustache make me laugh out loud?
i love this post.
and I love mario/duke.
Whenever I have a bad day... I am coming to your blog and looking at the first picture of sleeping Mario! It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen!
I get a real kick out of his obsession w/ Mario. Adam picked out a Mario backpack for preschool a couple weeks ago. Maya took one look and asked, "Why did he pick that backpack... he doesn't even know who that is?" I guess if it is good enough for Duke it is good enough for him. :)
